How much data do I need for a trip? Work it out from your use

The question isn't how many days you travel but what you'll do with your phone. Video uses by far the most. These are our estimates so you neither run short nor overpay.

What we estimate per day (with headroom)

  1. Messages, maps and web: about 0.3 GB a day.
  2. Video and video calls: about 1.5 GB a day.
  3. Heavy use (hotspot for a laptop, uploading video): about 3 GB a day.

Examples to pick a plan

  1. 3-day tournament, light use: 3 GB is plenty.
  2. Training camp week with opponent video: 10 GB.
  3. Two weeks working from a laptop: 50 GB.
  4. A month living abroad with daily video: 20 GB or more, topping up if needed.

Data plan or unlimited

A data plan runs at full speed until you use it up, with no daily cap: best for video. Unlimited Plus gives 2 GB a day at full speed and then 2 Mbps, so you're never cut off. If in doubt, 10 GB for 30 days is the most popular choice.

If you run short

With PFB Away you top up the same eSIM from your account in a minute, with nothing to install. We let you know when you're running low.
