eSIM for basketball teams: data on every away trip

European basketball is a calendar of midweek trips: you leave, play and come home with the next opponent already on top of you. There's little room to fight with your phone in every country.

Why basketball feels it more

Trips are short and back to back, so there's no time to buy a local SIM or sort out problems on arrival. The next opponent's video doesn't wait, and staff keep working on the bus and the flight home.

Many squads are international too: players on plans from their home country, sometimes another continent, who lose data abroad or pay a lot for it.

What to choose by competition

For European competition on EU routes, the Europe plan or Tournament Pack covers 37 countries with a single eSIM.

Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia have their own plans for a one-off trip. For a whole season, the Europe Pass includes Serbia and Turkey, and the EuroLeague pass adds trips to Israel and Dubai.

On the bench and in the arena

Don't rely on the arena wifi: with your own data, the bench iPad stays connected. If the tablet has no eSIM, tether it from your phone.

If you manage minutes and rotations during the game, the coaches page explains how to keep the iPad online on any court.

Competitions and tournaments

PFB Away is not affiliated with these competitions: the names are used only to describe the trip.

FAQ

Does the Europe plan work for the EuroLeague?

Not entirely: the EuroLeague goes through Serbia, Israel and Dubai, outside the Europe plan. That's what the EuroLeague season pass is for.

What about a foreign player living here all season?

There are long-duration plans and the welcome pack for signings: their data arrives before they fly.
