eSIM for Serbia: mobile data in Belgrade for teams and fans

PFB Away team · 27 October 2026

Belgrade is a regular stop in the EuroLeague and the ABA League. It's also one of the trips that brings the biggest surprises on the phone bill: Serbia isn't in the European Union, so your plan doesn't work «like at home». Here's what to know before you fly.

Your European plan doesn't cover Serbia

EU roaming rules («roam like at home») apply in EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and from 2026 also in Ukraine and Moldova. Serbia isn't on that list.

Some operators include it in their plans anyway. Others charge by the day or by the megabyte, and not always cheaply. Before you go, check your operator's website or app for what Serbia costs. If you can't find a clear answer, assume it isn't included.

How to get data in Serbia with PFB Away

Today Serbia is included in our Europe Pass: one eSIM for the whole season in 46 countries, Serbia and Turkey included, topped up automatically every month at full speed. It's built for people who play or work in Europe and travel almost every week: paying for the season upfront, it starts at €10.49 a month with 5 GB (October 2026 price).

If you need a one-off trip of a few days to Belgrade, message us in the website chat and we'll tell you the best option for your dates.

A trip to Belgrade with the team, step by step

  1. At home, on wifi, install the eSIM a few days early. The days don't start counting until you use data at your destination.
  2. When you land, choose the eSIM line for data and turn on data roaming on that line.
  3. Keep your usual SIM for calls and WhatsApp. Your number doesn't change.
  4. If staff need the laptop online for opponent video, share data from your phone (hotspot).
  5. At the arena, don't rely on the venue wifi: with your own data the bench iPad stays connected.

FAQ

Does my EU plan work in Serbia?

It depends on your operator. Serbia isn't part of regulated EU roaming, so each company sets its own prices. Check before you travel.

Do I need a Serbian number?

No. The eSIM is data only: your usual number stays the same for calls and WhatsApp.

Can I use the same eSIM for the rest of the season's trips?

Yes. The Europe Pass covers 46 countries and tops itself up every month, so there's nothing new to install for each away trip.
